Translations
Besides developing IDE plugins, I am also interested and involved in English-to-Hungarian translation projects. You can find a few details below, on the translations I worked on before.
Games and related applications
Re-Volt
This was probably my (as much as I can recall) first translation project, from my childhood. Re-Volt was a computer game in which you could race with little RC cars, and fire rockets, throw bombs and such at each other. That translation was purely for myself, and out of curiousity.
Scarab
Scarab is one of Hollow Knight’s, a game I thoroughly enjoy, Mod Manager. You can check out my contribution in this commit.
Software and applications
Maxthon Web Browser
I worked on a community based translation of this web browser when it was in its v3 phase back in around 2010, and made regular updates to it. This project introduced me to the Crowdin platform as well.
JetBrains Toolbox App
This project was a community contribution, and my Hungarian vocabulary grew a lot during this work, and had to be really creative in some cases. You can find the announcement of the 2.0 release of the app here.
LocalizedMenu package for Sublime Text
This is a package for Sublime Text that provides a way to localize its menu items. The Hungarian translation is available since version 1.8.4.
Obsidian.md
Obsidian is a popular writing app in which you can write and store notes as Markdown files. Although, I didn’t make the original Hungarian translation, I made a huge overhaul of it in this commit.
DrawDB
This as online database degisn tool and SQL generator with a nice UI. Its GitHub project is available here.
Smaller contributions in…
- OLauncher, a launcher for Android
Fun stuff
Oh Shit, Git!?! / Dangit, Git!?!
A small website with a handful of tips for solving common Git problems. The Hungarian translation is not available officially yet but it is ready and it is on pull request.
State-of-the-Art Shitcode Principles
A fun little Git repository with helpful code snippets demonstrating what an actual shitcode looks like and how you can achieve that state. The translation is not available officially yet but it is ready and it is on pull request.
Videos and blogs about minimalism
Matt D’Avella videos
I created and timed Hungarian subtitles for some of Matt D’Avellas earlier videos.
Unfortunately, the approval process was not entirely clear at the time (maybe community-driven), and only maybe a few got approved in the end.
Courtney Carver blog posts
I translated and published a handful or Courtney Carver’s early blog posts a few years ago, on my blog I was writing actively at that time.
